Junior Tennis Courses

All Star Coaching create a fun-active learning environment where children can enjoy developing their tennis skills and learn to play and compete. Our courses are for all abilities and are based on the nationally recognised LTA Mini Tennis Scheme whereby the children enter a programme that follows certain skills. There are red and orange levels from 3 years old upwards and the green level progresses the more competent players to full court tennis.

JUNIOR COURSE PROGRAMME — TODDLERS, JUNIOR AFTER-SCHOOL AND SATURDAY CLUBS

For more information, timetables and online booking for term-time courses, school holiday courses and toddler & parent courses just click the buttons below.

Our entry level courses are the Toddler and Adult sessions for 3 and 4 year olds, plus a parent or guardian on court with them. These 45 minute sessions which are designed to help the adult and child learn fun exercises and games together to develop the child’s (and adult’s!) co-ordination, ball-awareness and basic tennis skills.

For ages 5 to 7 years, our courses build co-ordination and technique through fun activities in a group environment using softer balls on a mini-court. The sessions include games, fitness, skills. We regret that we are unable to accept 4 year olds on the Junior courses, unless they are known to the coaches from the Toddler courses or from private sessions and are assessed as being able to cope in the larger group with older children. For ages 8 to 12 years (8 to 14 years on holiday courses) our programmes develop tennis skills with a transition to the full court game. Skills, footwork, group games and matchplay are included.

2012 Bookings

Booking starts online on 23rd January with payment by debit or credit cards (2.5% surcharge for credit cards). Bookings can be made from that date for all courses except Adult termtime morning sessions, and Junior After-school and Saturday Clubs. These exceptions can only be booked between 23rd January to 5th February by those with a priority code issued to players who were on an autumn 2011 course. Vacancies will be available for booking by new players from 6th February.

As bookings will be taken as they come, please note that booking with a priority code does not guarantee exactly the same course place as last autumn.

Similarly, summer 2012 termtime Adult and Junior players will have priority to rebook for autumn up until 17th June and there will be the opportunity for new players to book for autumn from 18th June.

Adult evening and Sunday courses, all Toddler and Adults courses and all Junior Holiday courses can be booked from 23rd January.

All bookings are subject to our Terms of Business. Places on all courses are subject to availability. We reserve the right to cancel courses one week in advance of start date in the unlikely event of insufficient numbers. A full refund will then be given.

What you need to know...

All equipment is provided, but the children may like to bring their own racket, if they have one. We can supply a suitable racket to purchase. Clothing should be comfortable sports clothing for the weather conditions, with normal trainers. Protection from sun and showers is essential and baseball caps are useful as they protect from both.

Bringing a drink (ideally water) onto the court is essential and a snack, if desired, to boost energy levels – e.g. raisins, bananas and grapes. Additionally, children on the 8 to 14 age group holiday courses will need to bring a packed lunch.

Our coaches are professionally qualified and are continually expanding their knowledge in the field of tennis coaching. Children showing promise are invited to join our Development and Performance Squads. All coaching is based on a maximum 8:1 pupil to coach ratio. We do our best to ensure that all the children are having an enjoyable experience and are in the best environment for their tennis development. Please do not hesitate to contact the Tennis Office if you have any concerns
